EKRONEAN LANGUAGE PORTAL

INTRODUCTION
The Ekronean Language [ha.el.p'ɑt ha.ʔek.ro.na.ʔ'et] is spoken by the majority of the inhabitants of the Ekronas State in the Gelo planet. It's a root-based language, but a considerable part of it deviates from the root. Verbal construction is quite simple and declines in gender and number, whenever it is in past, present and future tense or imperative. The participle mode is absent in Ekroneké, which is replaced by the passive voice in conjugations.

WRITING SYSTEM (read more)
The Ekronean script is an alphabet, meaning it has letters for both consonants and vowels: 19 consonantal letters and 3 vocalic letters.
Consonants: Most of the letters represent a single phoneme; however, some letters can be used to represent both a voiceless and a voiced phoneme. For example, the letters for /p/, /k/, /f/ e /ʃ/ (voiceless consonants) change into /b/, /g/, /v/ and /ʒ/ (voiced consonants) when preceded by another voiced consonant (like d e z) and by nasal consonants (/m/ and /n/). In all other scenarios, they remain voiceless.
Vowels: There are three written vowels, "a", "e" and "o", usually spoken as closed vowels. However, when in a stressed syllable and under certain circunstances, the /a/ and /e/ become the open vowels /ɑ/ and "ɛ", respectively. In the Aha'ite dialect, the /i/ and /u/ are preserved, differently from most other dialects.
